From hospitality to mouse control: every team member has their own specialty.
Meet the people and animals that make Monte Pino a home.
Giuseppe & Anika
Ciao! We are Giuseppe & Anika. What started as a dream at the kitchen table ended in a completely new life in Italy. In November 2024, we packed our bags, left the Netherlands behind, and – together with two kittens, a healthy dose of enthusiasm, and the occasional bit of Italian chaos – embarked on the adventure called Monte Pino. With our Italian, Dutch, and German roots, we form a unique mix. Giuseppe provides the Italian charm (and the espresso), Anika the Deutsche Gründlichkeit (and the lists). Together, we turn out to be a surprisingly good team. The months that followed were all about renovating, painting, hauling, cleaning, and lots and lots of coffee. By now, every wall, every tile, and every corner of Monte Pino tells a piece of our story. In May 2025, we were finally able to welcome our first guests. The moment Monte Pino was no longer just *our* dream, but also became a place where others make memories. We want you to feel not like you’ve booked a room here, but like you’re coming home for a moment. No mass tourism, no rush, no fixed schedules. Just a good glass of wine, a view over the hills, a dip in the pool, the scent of olive trees, and perhaps a curious cat that comes to see what you are doing. We look forward to meeting you personally and introducing you to the Le Marche that we have fallen in love with. Benvenuti a Monte Pino!
Gennaro & Gattuso
Gennaro & Gattuso are the official and highly dedicated Chief Mousers of Monte Pino. They came to live with us when they were just four weeks old. Since then, they have become an indispensable part of Monte Pino and are fully part of the community. This curious brother-and-sister duo loves to greet our guests, adores a pet, and regularly pops in to see what is happening around Monte Pino. In addition to their social duties, they also have an important responsibility: keeping the mouse population under control naturally. Fortunately, they take this task very seriously – although there is, of course, always time for a nap in the sun or a cuddle. Chances are you will encounter them during your stay: lounging in the sun, peeking curiously around a corner, or during one of their important inspection rounds. Warning: many guests do not just leave in love with Le Marche..
But also with a soft spot for Gennaro & Gattuso ❤
